NBSC-ICS CELEBRATES THE PINNING CEREMONY OF GRADUATING STUDENTS
Northern Bukidnon State College’s Institute for Computer Studies (NBSC-ICS) held its ICS Pinning Ceremony on February 27, 2026, at the NBSC Covered Court. The ceremony began with an opening address from Cherry Mae C. Grepon, speaking on behalf of Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, Vice-President for Academic Affairs. She encouraged the students to carry with them the strength to face challenges ahead, underscoring the importance of perseverance and determination in their careers.
NBSC President Dr. Christie Jean Villanueva-Ganiera then delivered an inspiring talk, reflecting on the importance of the moment. She noted how the students, dressed in their uniforms, embodied readiness not just for the ceremony, but for the responsibilities that lay beyond it.
Faisah S. Bacarat, OJT Coordinator, introduced the on-the-job training (OJT) candidates before the students received their pins. This was followed by MJ Magsalos, 4th Year Student Body Organization (SBO) Representative, who led the ICS Interns’ Pledge, a moment for the students to reaffirm their commitment to the values they’ve embraced during their time at NBSC.
Nick C. Cajes, a BSIT alumnus of NBSC, shared a powerful message about the responsibility that comes with their education. He noted the small yet meaningful pin they were receiving, reminding students that success is defined by contribution, not comparison. Technology, he emphasized, is neutral, and it’s up to the individual to decide how it will be used to make a difference.
The ceremony took a moment to honor the parents and guardians in attendance, acknowledging their unwavering support throughout the students’ academic journeys. The role of family in shaping each student’s path was celebrated, as their dedication was an essential part of the day’s achievements.
The event concluded with a closing message from Charlene O. Bulahan, an ICS Instructor, who urged the students to remain focused and committed as they approached the next phase of their journey. Her words served as a gentle reminder to carry forward the lessons they’ve learned and stay grounded as they navigate the challenges ahead.
Such ceremonies provide the students with a clear sense of direction and purpose, connecting their academic achievements with the responsibility they now carry as emerging professionals. NBSC continues to offer more than just an education; it provides its students with the values, discipline, and confidence to take on the future, ensuring they are equipped to make meaningful contributions in the ever-evolving world of technology.
